Outstanding Colloquia

The Geography Department’s weekly colloquia and special lectures feature a mix of invited guests from other Universities, geography department faculty, and faculty from other departments at Texas A&M. This ensures that students have the opportunity to meet and discuss their work with a wide variety of researchers, which can lead to opportunities for collaboration or further research. The coffee social hour held after each lecture is an additional opportunity for students and faculty to interact with the speaker and each other in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. A newly created graduate seminar compliments the ongoing colloquia series. Doctoral students and faculty meet each Wednesday afternoon for a student presentation and to give feedback on the student’s work.
