Dr. Anne Chin

Associate Professor

Ph.D. Geography, Arizona State University, 1994

B.A. Geography, University of California, Los Angeles, 1983

Research

Dr. Chin is a fluvial geomorphologist and hydrologist with research interests in the energetics of high-gradient mountain streams. She also seeks to understand how rivers respond to natural and anthropogenic disturbances, including urbanization, land use changes, and high-magnitude floods. Recent research additionally addresses river channel management, especially in urban areas. Dr. Chin has conducted extensive field work in the AmerSouthwest and has ongoing research projects in California, Arizona, Texas, Arkansas, and Oregon.
